Anatomy and Biomechanics Content for your 200hr or 300hr Teacher Training
Do you teach or host a 200hr or 300hr teacher training and want excellent, tried and true anatomy and biomechanics content for your training? If so, let’s team up! As a seasoned 200hr and 300hr teacher trainer, I have experience making complex subject matter accessible, applicable and fun for brand new and experienced yoga teachers alike.
I fully understand the importance of sharing anatomy and biomechanics content in a way that brings it to life in practice and makes it immediately relevant to learning to teach. Trainees actively explore content through a combination of short lecture and discussion, postural assessment labs, hands-on engagement and practice. Manuals and homework are provided, upon request.
Depending on the amount of anatomy and biomechanics hours you allot in your training, material can be covered across sessions ranging from 2 to 6 hours in length.
Here is a list of possible module topics:
- Feet and ankles
- Knees and hips
- Hips and low back
- The spine
- The shoulder girdle
- Shoulders, elbows and wrists
- Breath mechanics and physiology
- The nervous system
- Injuries and pain
Each session may contain the following modes of exploration:
- Visual, tactile and experiential tour of the anatomy of each region – hard and soft tissue structures.
- A biomechanics lecture that introduces how these structures are impacted in the asanas.
- Postural assessment labs, practice and hands-on learning to apply biomechanical concepts and see and feel them in real time.
- A study of bone rhythms and the movement relationships between major body parts in the asanas.
- The influence of the body’s physiological systems on movement, pain, and relaxation.
- Muscle anatomy and function for each of the major joint regions.
- Injuries, pain science and key critical thinking skills for working with injured students.
